OUR CAUSE

Our Hope for the Future

What we realised through the many discussions we had was that the migrant workers in our community are unseen and unheard.

We hope that Project P.O.V. can act as a catalyst to inspire others in our community to advocate for this cause. To show solidarity with our workers, to build rapport with them and to make their time here purposeful. All these to ensure a Singapore with inclusivity and equality.

P.O.V.

It is of no doubt that 2020 was one of the hardest year of our lives. People from all walks of life felt the effects of the pandemic. Many were left struggling.

As youths, we wanted to help in any way possible. We wanted to enlighten the solemn mood during the unprecedented time.

We asked ourselves: what was one way in which we could really provide our assistance to the community ? We quickly realised that the most effective way to do that was to look at things from a different perspective; to take up a different Point Of View.

Hence, Project P.O.V. was born.

"This project enabled me to learn more about the migrant workers. For example, how they have been affected by the pandemic or how “forgotten” they are and the things they have done for us.
Most importantly, I got to learn and apply the value of Empathy. Through this project, we also got to share these stories of the migrant workers with our school population and more people started to appreciate them more."
